Direct mainland flights from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness and Aberdeen to Stornoway (60
miles north of Carminish)

By sea :-
There are three possible routes by sea:
1. Ullapool to Stornoway (60 miles north of Carminish).
2. Skye to Tarbert (20 miles north of Carminish)
3. Berneray to Leverburgh (½ mile north of Carminish)
CalMac now have Sunday sailings between Berneray and Leverburgh which link with the Sunday sailings between Lochmaddy and Skye which now means that you can get to and from the mainland and Leverburgh on Sundays. There are also now Sunday sailings between Ullapool and Stornoway.

Cars & Buses
A reliable bus service operates on all of the islands, and rental cars are
available from Stornoway.
You can, of course, drive over in your own car
using any of the car ferries above. |
